Advanced Design Communication II : Analytic Representation + Diagram

This course offers an opportunity to learn an interdisciplinary investigation of design theory as connected to digital technology and its applications to current developments in practice and research within architecture and design. The purpose of this course is to develop a method of design communication with various digital technologies that would enhance the processes that lead to the generation of meaningful architectural form. The course encourages students 1) to explore creative uses of digital technologies, 2) to exercise computational complexity, and 3) develop analytic representations in their design process.

Through this course, students are expected to achieve a comprehensive level of 1) understanding various design principles, 2) generating 2D & 3D geometric models, and 3) employing integrated design strategies for maximizing the quality and productivity of design artifact.

DESCRIPTION

Analytic Representation + Diagram:
1) Students explore a method of maximizing the power of their design statement with various analytic representation strategies. 2) With this diagrammatic practice, the students articulate an alternative to a representation technique. 3) Develop a creative integration of 2D and 3D images with layering and vector graphic of geometric models.

Our understanding of where we live
is not so philosophical but rather pragmatic

Understanding urban environment with quantifiable measures has been the source of debates
Well then becomes the one of heated discussions … now possiblly the one of main trends
